Derbyshire County PCT organised a seminar on Rhubarb Farm on 18th June.

Held in the Langwith Bassett Hall, 60 participants watched a powerpoint presentation about our work. This was followed by inspiring talks from 4 of the volunteers who used to work with us at Unstone - Natalie, Patrick, Elissa and Chris - who spoke movingly of how therapeutic horticulture had benefited them.  In addition, David Heathcote, our LEO Business Adviser, Alan Hepworth of Dronfield Rotary Club who had helped mobilise Rotary Club support for us at Unstone, and Ian Hunt, Head Gardener of the National Trust's Hardwick Hall all spoke of the importance of therapeutic horticulture and encouraged participants to back us.

Since the seminar, we have had 6 new requests for partnership working, which we are currently in the process of discussing, which is very exciting. Catering at the seminar was provided by the Langwith Society's Snappabargain charity shop cafe, who provided a marvellous spread.  Participants could also try rhubarb fool and equal opprtunitues rhubarb crumble (i.e. suitable for vegans)!
